When a Great Divine Soul or Saint leaves his physical body on a happy note with complete consciousness, it is called Nijanandagamana.
It is not a death, but a Divine Journey where the Divine Soul remains present around the physical world and can be visible to anyone, but only with self-permission.
It is a process done by choice when the Divine body finishes its mission on Mrityu Loka. The soul leaves the physical body with no pain or fear. It is a very happy "see-off"—it is not death, but simply a return in a different Avatar.

Swami Samarth voluntarily performed Nijanandagamana on Tuesday, April 30, 1878 (Chaitra Krishna Trayodashi). Swami Samarth Guru sat under the Vatavruksha (Banyan Tree) in Baddha Padmasana, and before his departure, he said: "भिऊ नकोस, तुझ्या पाठीशी आहे" — Bhiu Nakos, Mi Tuzya Pathishi Aahe.
