Pradosham is a 180-minute Auspicious period on Trayodashi (twice a month), occurring specifically 90 minutes before and 90 minutes after Sunset.

I have heared the story in many years ago it's said that at time of Samudra Manthan extremely deadly poison was released called Halahala which had Power to destroy entire Universe to save everything Lord Shiva consumed that Posion , the power of the Poison was unbearable it was too dangerous ,it was very volatile described as Kalakuta it was in liquid fire that Lord Shiva drank and stored it in his throat and he became Neelkanth.

Simple logic hai Every Month may 30 days hote hai except February so every Month has 1 Amavasya ( New Moon Day ) and Purnima (Full Moon Day) after 15 days , so Trayodashi before Amavasya where moon goes black and Black is related to Krishna so its called Krishna Paksha Pradosham and Trayodashi that comes before Purnima where Moon goes White is called
